Flower Dress for Park Inn Glasgow

We love a challenge at Mood Flowers so when we were asked by DADA to create a couture dress for the launch of the new Park Inn by Radisson hotel  this week, we jumped at the chance.

Along with the dress made entirely of 'Delmonte' germini from grower Holstein which was modelled by Cat Cubie we created a parasol using daffodils, tulips, germini, green bell, ranunculus and ivy. The parasol (read umbrella!) came in handy for the beautiful Glasgow spring weather we've been having recently.

Fashion Shoot, Scotland on Sunday

A few weeks ago we were delighted to design and create some floral headpieces for a shoot for the Scotland on Sunday fashion team. Look out for the official photos in a future issue of the magazine.

Hello Petal, The Herald Magazine

Pick up a copy of The Herald newspaper today and you will see the photos on pages 24-30 of the magazine. Last week the paper's fashion team headed by stylist Carrie McAdam and photographer Kirsty Anderson joined us for an afternoon at the studio. We put together 4 different looks for them:  a collection of vintage jars with mini posies, hydrangea and gypsophila clouds, a flower shop backdrop and the classic American Beauty pose using hundreds of rose petals. Here are a few behind the scenes photos taken on the day.

Evening Times - The Apprentice

As the TV show The Apprentice nears the end of the series, Nick spent the day trading place with Jacqueline O'Donnell from The Sisters restaurant in Kelvingrove. He learned to be a trainee chef and then put Jacqueline through her paces as an apprentice florist. If you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen!

We were searching through our archived photos today and came across our flower dress photos from a PR campaign we helped Gardening Scotland with a few years ago. Although this shoot was done on a rooftop in Edinburgh in springtime there is definitely something autumnal about it....
